The human element disappears in virtual worlds such a second life. There is no possible ways that interpersonal relationships could be built the same way in these avatar world compared to the real world. This "cyber life social hang out" reminds me of the movie Surrogates with Bruce Willis. In the movie, avatars are sent out to live their lives, they can look how they choose to look, work where they want to work, just like second life. The only difference is that instead of meeting in a cyber world, the avatar is actually in the real world. The glamour is presented at first but then you start to see the cracks of the avatar phenomenon and how it greatly affects people's lives.
