Exercises in Style

This demonstrates the art of comics as sequential art. At first glance it doesn't seem like there is much to view until you look closer and stare longer. Time is represented well in how it moves you from one frame to the next. Also he uses the gutter well in how it forces the viewer to "read between the lines" of the comic to get the over all idea of the strip. Alone each picture says little yet together it has something to say. This is the essence of what sequential art is in the form of comics. Such a simple little scene yet very effective in drawing the viewer in. "What time is it? 1:15. Thanks. What the hell was I looking for anyway"!? Just words on a page here but in sequential art it seems like it is really happening. I have to say, pretty cool...
